Rome is one of the most historic cities in the world. Steeped in history, you are welcomed with ancient buildings and landmarks. There really is no city like it. The Rome Marathon gives you the chance to run through history, soaking in all Rome has to offer along the way. Starting from Fori Imperiali, passing in front of the Vittoriano, you will see the chariot-racing stadium the Circo Massimo, before enjoying the breeze of Lungotevere alley that runs along the river Tiber. You will then take in the impressive Castel Sant’Angelo, viale della Conciliazione and St. Peter’s Basilica before finishing.
Our hotel is just around the corner from the Colosseum tucked away in a quiet street. There are plenty of shops, wine bars and trattorie to give the neighbourhood a lively and authentic “local” feel. You can find many Rome’s historical sights such as the Roman Forum, the Palatine and Piazza Venezia within an easy walk. The Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain are a 15 to 20 minute bus ride from the hotel or can also be easily reached on foot. Perfectly positioned for race day the start and finish is only 10 minutes’ walk away. We invite you to take part in warm up runs, pasta dinner and celebrations and Marathon Tours & Travel team will be on hand for guidance and support to make your trip a success.

Make your own arrangements to arrive at Hotel Lancelot in Rome today. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 12:30pm. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings.
This evening is free for you to enjoy the sights of Rome, take a stroll over to the Colleseum through the Parco del Colle Oppio for a beautifully framed view of the famous landmark.

Saturday 16th March, 2024
Expo & Pasta dinner
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. We reccomend you travel to the Expo to collect your race registration pack today. Iinstructions on how to get there will be provided with the final itinerary. Your race pack must be collected before the registration closes this evening. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Tonight, a pre-race 3 course meal with water, wine and coffee is included at our hotel.

Sunday 17th March, 2024
Race Day!
Breakfast will be available early. Those running the Rome Marathon will easily be able to walk to the start from Hotel Lancelot. The race start area is less than 10 minutes walk. Please leave plenty of extra time to make your way through the crowds. to drop off your bag (if you chose this option) and to find your specific start pen. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials, run, and have fun!
After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up, celebrate…you deserve it!

Our charming 3* hotel is very close to the marathon start and finish area….è Perfetto!
Tucked away in a quiet street, only 5 minutes’ walk to the Colosseum and yet with immediate access to plenty of shops, wine bars and trattorie, the neighbourhood you will be staying in offers a lively and authentic “local” feel. To give you energy you can start each day with a traditional roman breakfast of ‘cappuccino e cornetto’ (coffee and Italian croissant), together with a choice of fruit juices, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, dried fruit, nuts, roman bread, homemade cakes & jams, cold meats, cheese, smoked salmon and eggs.
The hotel bar/lounge offers coffee, tea and a range of drinks. A lovely place to relax and unwind after a busy day.
Each individually decorated room is comfortable and relaxing. All rooms have a private bathroom, satellite TV, desk and in room safe. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi throughout.

Enter the 2024 Rome Marathon with Marathon Tours & Travel
The Rome Marathon gives you the chance to run through history, soaking in all Rome has to offer along the way. Race Date: 17 March, 2024
All race rules must be followed.
Eligibility: Marathon Tours & Travel, an authorised tour operator, is required to offer travel arrangements in conjunction with guaranteed race entry. All runners must be 20 years or older on race day.
Non-competitive entry
Participation is allowed for non-Italians living abroad, who are not members of a Sports Club affiliated with World Athletics (former IAAF), signing an ad-hoc waiver form. The race time will not be displayed in the general leader board but will instead be available next to the athlete’s name, in alphabetical order, in a separate result table and the athlete will not be able to win any prizes. Time limit to finish the marathon is 6h30.
Competitive entry
Competitive runners or Italian citizens who are not members of a national athletic federation affiliated with World Athletics (former IAAF) or FIDAL are required to purchase a RunCard and provide a medical certificate. If you are not able to obtain the above, please sign up as a non-competitive runner.

Number Pickup: You must pick up your race bib and packet at the Rome Marathon Expo prior to race day.
Temperature: Average temperatures on race day are between 45 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
Awards: Every finisher receives a medal.
Difficulty: Mostly flat, some of the course is on cobblestone.
Course: The loop course will start near the Colosseum and pass many spectacular sites such as Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum, Piazza Navona and the Vatican. There is also a 5K fun run starting immediately after the marathon. Entry for the 5K can be made on site at the Runner’s Expo.
Race Time: from 08:30am (in 3 waves)
Minimum Pace/Cut-off Time Policy: 6 hours 30 minutes

How to Book
To make your booking, click on the orange button at the top of the page, ensuring that you select the correct number of rooms and types for all members in your party plus all the required extras. When you book, we will require a deposit to confirm your place.
Payments
When you confirm your booking, we will take a deposit payment. Subsequent payments are taken automatically.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is an essential part of any holiday you take, and we highly recommend that you purchase suitable insurance for your trip. You must ensure that your travel insurance policy also covers you to participate in running events.
Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited, and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
Race Rules
Our itinerary and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organisers have confirmed final instructions. All race rules and procedures need to be followed.
Starting Pens and Bib Numbers
Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the 2024 Rome Marathon, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers. After purchasing your race entry with us, you will be sent a link to complete the registrations process. Please do not expect it immediately after booking – it will be sent when Rome Marathon sends the links to us. The race organisers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information you provide.
