• The Dublin Marathon has come a long way since its birth in 1980. Dublin may not be the biggest Marathon but it has gained a reputation as one of the best organised city marathons. The crowd support in Dublin is amazing. There are very few stretches without spectators.

• The start of the race is on Fitzwilliam Street Upper and the finish is at Merrion Square North. Both are easily accessible from Dublin city centre hotels. Race pack collection takes place in the main hall of the Royal Dublin Society (RDS). The course is mostly flat with a long stretch through Phoenix Park. There are not many hills but there is one long uphill section at mile 21 which will test your legs.
