The event prides itself on welcoming everyone to Manchester to take on the 26.2 mile/42-kilometre challenge. You will share the start line with elite runners as well as people who thought that completing a marathon would never be possible. The course offers a great opportunity to get a personal best time and all runners find the incredible Mancunian support throughout the course unforgettable.

Our accommodation allows you to choose whether you stay in Trafford, a suburb of Manchester where the race starts and finishes or in the city centre where everyone in Manchester meets. The itinerary below reflects the 1 night package.
Welcome to Manchester! Make your own arrangements to arrive at your hotel in Manchester. Hotel rooms are usually ready after 15:00pm; if you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel concierge and explore the city and surrounds.
If you are an international runner or did not receive your race bib in the post please collect your race bib yet please do so today. Details regarding the bib collection venue will be shared once available but it is expected to be in central Manchester and within easy access.

Race day! The adidas Manchester Marathon 2024 starts and finishes at Old Trafford. The action kicks off at 09:00am, starting with the wheelchairs and elites, with the final waves starting roughly two hours after this time.
How to get there
We recommend travelling to the start and back from the finish on foot, by cycling or by using public transport. We strongly discourage driving to the event due to the extensive road closures which will be operating along the route. Please refer to this page for more information on how to get there.
The easiest way to travel to the adidas Manchester Marathon 2024 is to use the city’s tram system. The nearest tram stop to access the start and event village areas is Old Trafford located on the Altrincham line (green or purple line). Please note that we do not recommend spectators going to the Start Line as it will be very busy and there are no good vantage points to see runners. Instead, why not go to the city centre for the best views and to soak up the party atmosphere?
After the race celebrate…you deserve it!

Race day! The Manchester Marathon starts and finishes at Old Trafford. The action kicks off at 09:00am, starting with the wheelchairs and elites, with the final waves starting roughly two hours after this time. For our guests staying at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, we will escort you to the marathon start.
How to get there
We recommend travelling to the start and back from the finish on foot, by cycling or by using public transport. We strongly discourage driving to the event due to the extensive road closures which will be operating along the route. Please refer to this page for more information on how to get there.

Enter the adidas Manchester Marathon 2024 with Marathon Tours & Travel
We are very pleased to offer you guaranteed entry into the adidas Manchester Marathon 2024. Marathon Tours & Travel are an official Tour Operator.
The Course
The course is 26.2 miles of true Manchester vibe! 28,000 + runners will begin their journey under the Trafford arch before heading out on closed roads to the city centre before winding their way back through Greater Manchester. Runners will pass Hotel Football (owned by Man Utd legends) and the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ Old Trafford Stadium, home of Manchester United Football Club then winding through the suburbs of Greater Manchester and South Manchester before returning back to Trafford. The course is lined with enthusiastic supporters and bands, DJ’s choirs pumping out classic Mancunian anthems.
Race Time: from 09:00am in waves
Minimum Pace/Cut-off Time Policy: The finish line closes 6 hours after the last person crosses the start line.
Eligibility: Marathon Tours & Travel, an authorized tour operator, is required to offer travel arrangements in conjunction with guaranteed race entry. All runners must be 18 years or older on race day to be eligible for our guaranteed entries.
Number Pickup: If you are an international runner or did not receive your race bib in the post please collect your race bib before race day. Details regarding the bib collection venue will be shared once available but it is expected to be in central Manchester (2023 collection point was Holiday Inn, 25 Aytoun Street, Manchester M1 3DT).
Temperature: Average temperatures range between 7C to 15C (45F to 60F).
Awards: Every finisher receives a T-Shirt & Medal.

Race Rules and Terms of Participation
Our itinerary and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organisers have confirmed final instructions. Starting Pens and Bib Numbers
Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the adidas Manchester Marathon 2024, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers.
Closer to the event we will send you a link which will allow you to complete the registration process for the event. Once you have finalised the registration process, the race organisers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information provided. Please read the race rules and terms for participation carefully, as you have to accept them to participate in the event.
Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
