Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before, or depart, on different days to the following itinerary. Paris is fascinating with plenty to see and do. The itinerary below reflects the 3-night package. Adding extra nights is recommended and allows you more time to explore the city.
Arrival Day, Welcome meeting & Shake-out run.
Make your own arrangements to arrive at Hotel Rochester Champs-Élysées today. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 3:00pm. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings.
Early this evening we invite you to join your Marathon Tours & Travel team to join us in the hotel lobby before leaving for an optional shake-out run in the local area. It will acquaint you with the local area and shake-out any travel tiredness. The run will be easy and at a pace comfortable for all fitness levels. A perfect opportunity to ask questions and get to know fellow runners.
Saturday 6 April, 2024
Pasta dinner
Today please enjoy the city at your leisure. If you booked your race entry with us we will collect your race pack (includes bag, t-shirt & race bib) and hand it to you at the hotel today. If you obtained your own race entry you will be required to make your own way to the Expo to collect your race pack.
The rest of the day is at your leisure. Marathon Tours & Travel team will be happy to suggest some sightseeing options.
Often restaurants are booked up early, but you don’t need to worry about finding somewhere to carb-load this evening as you join the Marathon Tours & Travel team for a delicious and nutritious pre-race dinner.

Race Day and check out.
Breakfast will be available early. Those running the Paris Marathon will easily be able to walk to the start from Hotel Rochester Champs-Élysées. The race start is approximately 5 minutes’ walk. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials, run, and have fun!
The spectator areas of the Paris Marathon route are easily accessible on foot or by Metro and the finish area is 20 minutes’ walk away. Perfectly positioned for race day and to cheer on the runners.
Unless you have booked extra nights please check out of your room before leaving for the race this morning. We recommend you extend your stay with us at Hotel Rochester Champs-Élysées so you can continue your celebrations and join us for a drink with your fellow runners this evening. We also offer a full day tour to Champagne (optional extra at £395) on Monday. Costs for extra nights can be given or use our easy booking tool to select the extra nights and / or day tour.

The race start is approximately 5 minutes’ walk away from the hotel. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials, run, and have fun!
The spectator areas of the Paris Marathon route are easily accessible on foot or by Metro and the finish area is 20 minutes’ walk away, making it perfectly positioned for race day and to cheer on the runners.
After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up, celebrate…you deserve it!
Tonight, we will gather in the hotel bar for a post-race celebration and drink!

Departure Day
Unless you have booked extra nights please check out of your room before 12:00. We recommend you continue your celebrations by booking our full day tour to Champagne (optional extra at £395) and either return home this evening or extend your stay with us at Hotel Rochester Champs-Élysées.

Optional Full Day Tour to Champagne
Monday 8 April, 2024
Champagne is synonymous with celebration and the good life, and Champagne Tours are a non-stop celebration of great wine and food. Consider extending your package in Paris by one night to join us for a fabulous day of champagne tastings.
On your tour of Champagne, we will enjoy a tasting in Epernay where several prestigious Champagne Houses settled during the 19th century. Here we will learn the history of the men and women who created the Houses and built the grand reputation of “the richest avenue of the World.”
In the afternoon, we will make our way to Côte des Blancs and have lunch in one of the Grand Cru villages of this area while also receiving an intimate view of the complex and fascinating process of marking champagne. After lunch, we will stop for one last tasting at Champagne Dom Caudron before we head back to Paris.

2024 Paris Marathon

Start Times
From 8:15am to 10:50am
Course (TBC)
The starting line of the Paris Marathon is on the famous Champs Elysees Avenue, in front of the Arc de Triomphe. Runners head towards and around Place De la Concorde before turning right into Rue de Rivoli. This section takes you past Hotel de Ville, Place de la Bastille and through a more residential area on the eastern edge of the city before you enter Bois de Vincennes park and see the Chateau de Vincennes. A wide loop of the Bois de Vincennes returns runners to the heart of the city and along the river Seine, past Notre Dame cathedral, the Louvre, Musee d’Orsay and the Eiffel Tower before you enter the Bois de Boulogne park. 5km of the course takes you around the park before you finally and triumphantly finish in the wide and spacious Avenue Foch. In a nutshell, Paris in the spring, together with one of the biggest sightseeing marathons in the world is an incredible experience you won’t forget. Find course details and map here.
Starting Times and Bib Numbers
Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the 2024 Paris Marathon we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers.
Closer to the event we will ask for your expected pace and other details to complete the registration process for the 2024 Paris Marathon. The race organisers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information you provide.
Medical Certificate: All runners are required to provide a medical certificate (this is a legal requirement for taking part in running events in France) stating that there is no medical indication that they cannot take part in a competitive running event. Medical certificates must be uploaded to the runner’s personal account before the event.
Only if medical certificates have been uploaded to the runner’s account, can we collect and deliver entries to the hotel. If your medical certificate has been refused or if you didn’t upload it, you will have to print and bring it at the bib collection (it must be dated less than a year prior the date of the race and have the wording «running in competition », « athletism in competition » or « sport in competition »).
To avoid mistakes we advise you to use this certificate template.
For some people it may not be that easy to make an appointment with a doctor, or your doctor may charge a significant fee for this. You also may not want to add an extra burden to your local healthcare service. That’s why we introduce you to an online medical certification service. Simply fill out the online questionnaire, pay the fee and your certificate will be delivered to you. More details can be found here.
Race Rules
Our itinerary and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organisers have confirmed final instructions. Time Limits
The course time limit is six hours.
Eligibility
Athletes need to be at least 20 years old at the latest on 31 December, 2024.
Weather
Average temperatures range between 10C to 17C (50F to 63F).

Every runner receives a commemorative t-shirt and upon finishing received a finisher’s medal and refreshments.

Whilst we expect this event to take place on the date shown the exact date will only be announced later. Do not book any flights until confirmed details are known and we have advised you of the package choices.
How to Book after package options are released.
Our team will contact you, advise packages choices with prices and invite you to booking a specific package. At this stage you will need select the correct number of rooms and types for all members in your party plus all the required extras. When you book, we will require a further deposit.
Payments
When you confirm your booking, we will take a deposit payment. Subsequent payments are taken automatically.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is an essential part of any holiday you take, and we highly recommend that you purchase suitable insurance for your trip. You must ensure that your travel insurance policy also covers you to participate in running events.
Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited, and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
