The United Airlines NYC Half is a very popular half marathon. Starting in Brooklyn, crossing the Manhattan Bridge and through Times Square, Manhattan before finishing in Central Park, the United Airlines NYC Half takes you on a wonderful journey through the closed New York City streets. This year, you can enjoy the St Patricks Day Parade and festivities on the Saturday and race on the Sunday. A great time to be in New York City!
Attracting more than 24,000 runners from across the globe demand for places is high but as official tour operator for this event you do not need to wait or worry about the lottery process, instead we can guarantee your place on a first come first served basis. You can book a Marathon Tours & Travel United Airlines NYC Half package, add guaranteed entry, and still enter the United Airlines NYC Half lottery. Should you receive an entry when the lottery is announced, we will deduct the entry from your booking. You have nothing to lose!

Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before or depart on different days to the following itinerary. New York has plenty to see and do. Our accommodation is an excellent location and very convenient to the heart of Manhattan and all the sights and sounds. The itinerary below reflects the 3 nights package. Adding extra nights is recommended and allows you the time to enjoy the city.
Arrival Day & Welcome Reception
Welcome to New York City! Your Marathon Tours & Travel (MTT) team look forward to meeting you upon your arrival at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel. Once you check in, the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Hotel rooms are usually ready after 4pm; if you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel concierge and explore the city and surrounds, or visit the Expo to collect your race bib. Details regarding the United Airlines NYC Half Expo and bib pickup will be shared once available. We will look forward to seeing you this evening at our Welcome Reception.

Shake-out run & Expo
We start the day with an optional shakeout run through Central Park, followed by an escorted trip to the Expo to collect your race bib. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city or relax before the big day. From watching the St Patrick’s Day Parade, to attending a Broadway show, or walking across the Brooklyn Bridge there is no shortage of ways to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day weekend here in the ‘Big Apple’. Enjoy dinner on your own this evening at one of the many local restaurants.

United Airlines NYC Half & Celebrations
Luck of the Irish, it’s race day! This will be an early morning with public transport to the race start guided by your MTT Host. The United Airlines NYC Half starts in Brooklyn and passes through famous landmarks such as the Manhattan Bridge, Times Square, and Grand Central Station, before finishing at Central Park in Manhattan. Following the race, make your way back on your own to the hotel (approximately a 15-minute walk). Enjoy some well-deserved rest before we gather for a celebratory drink in the hotel lobby bar. The rest of the evening is free to experience one of the many fine restaurants in the city and enjoy some St. Patrick’s Day celebrations!

Celebrate St Patrick’s Day in New York
The St Patrick’s Day Parade in New York is the 15th March 2025 (TBC) – the oldest and largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the world. The Parade celebrates everything Irish and it starts from 44th Street and 5th Avenue at 11.00am, before travelling up 5th Avenue to 79th Street. Millions of spectators come to cheer on the Parade and enjoy a pint of Guinness or two in the many Irish bars in Manhattan.
Extend your stay to include this brilliant experience. Our hotel is an easy distance from the Parade so you can watch and enjoy, have a few drinks and be close to your hotel afterwards.

Enter the United Airlines NYC Half with Marathon Tours & Travel
We are very pleased to offer you guaranteed entry into this iconic half marathon. Marathon Tours & Travel are an official International Tour Operator. Not only can you take part in the Half Marathon, but you can enjoy St Patrick’s day too!
The Course
Runners will begin their journey on Prospect Park’s Center Drive in Brooklyn before taking the race onto Brooklyn’s streets. The course will take runners over the Manhattan Bridge and up the FDR Drive before a crosstown dash on 42nd Street and a turn north on 7th Avenue, through Times Square, and into Central Park.
Race Time: from 7:00am in waves
Minimum Pace/Cut-off Time Policy: 3 hours. Participants need to maintain a 13:45 mile pace throughout the race to avoid cut off at certain points.
Eligibility: Marathon Tours & Travel, an authorized tour operator, is required to offer travel arrangements in conjunction with guaranteed race entry. All runners must be 18 years or older on race day to be eligible for our guaranteed entries.
Number Pickup: You must pick up your race bib and packet at the Registration & Expo prior to race day.
Temperature: Average temperatures range between 8C to 16C (46F to 60F).
Awards: Every finisher receives a T-Shirt & Medal.

How to Book during the pre-booking before package release stage

Whilst we expect this event to take place on the date shown the exact date will only be announced later. Do not book any flights until confirmed details are known and we have advised you of the package choices.
How to Book after package options are released.
Our team will contact you, advise packages choices with prices and invite you to booking a specific package. At this stage you will need select the correct number of rooms and types for all members in your party plus all the required extras. When you book, we will require a further deposit.
Payments
When you confirm your booking, we will take a deposit payment. Subsequent payments are taken automatically.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is an essential part of any holiday you take, and we highly recommend that you purchase suitable insurance for your trip. You must ensure that your travel insurance policy also covers you to participate in running events.
Race Rules and Terms of Participation
Our itinerary and details regarding the race are based on current information available at the time this package was released for sale. Whilst we expect the details to remain correct, changes are possible and will be confirmed nearer to the trip after the race organisers have confirmed final instructions. Starting Pens and Bib Numbers
Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the United Airlines Half, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers.
Closer to the event we will send you a link which will allow you to complete the registration process for the event. Once you have finalised the registration process, the race organisers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information provided. Please read the race rules and terms for participation carefully, as you have to accept them to participate in the event.
Credit card
All hotels in New York need a credit card imprint upon check in where a value is held and released when you check out. Any incidentals such as room service or chargeable extras to the room would be deducted.
Security Policy
Marathon Tours & Travel’s security policy requires that anyone staying in our room block must be registered as part of our package. If a registered client attempts to house a non-registered guest and/or invite them to attend any of our scheduled activities, the registered guest’s tour package will be forfeited and parties may be denied access to future tours. Please note that no exceptions will be made as this policy will be strictly enforced.
