Friday, 5th July 2024: Travel

Please make your own arrangements to arrive at your chosen hotel today. Our team will be available to meet you at the hotel. If you plan to fly then we offer bookable airport transfers for you, your luggage, and your bike from Nice airport at set times.

What about my bike?

You can bring your own bike as we will plan to transport bike boxes on our optional airport transfers. Alternatively, you can rent a bike with us for the weekend. Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to assist you with fitting your rental bike or building your own bike after travel. Bikes can be safely stored at the hotel.

This afternoon and early evening, our tour leaders and bike mechanics are available for you. The evening is free for you to eat out if you don’t have evening meal included at your hotel. 

Saturday, 6th July 2024:  Preparation and registration day

After breakfast and preparing the bikes, we will take you on a supported, guided ride.   

We’ll be back at the hotel in the afternoon for you to rest and get prepared for tomorrow. 

Bike collection

This afternoon, we will ask you to drop your bike off to us in Valberg in preparation for tomorrow morning's transfer to Nice.

Expo Visit - bookable extra

There's an opportunity to visit the Etape Expo today. You can book onto our coach to take you down to one of the biggest cycling expos on the circuit, but remember, you won't need to visit to collect your bib - we'll bring these to Valberg / Beuil for you!

This evening our bike guides will do a race briefing to run through Etape day logistics and of course the route.

The evening is free for you to eat at your hotel or eat out at a local restaurant.

Sunday, 7th July 2024: The 2024 Etape du Tour

We have an early start this morning. Early breakfasts are arranged in the hotel restaurants. Those who have booked self-catering residences need to ensure they prepare their own breakfasts this morning.

Transfer to the start

This morning we will transfer you to Nice for the start of the 2024 Etape du Tour. We'll get you there in plenty of time to ensure you are ready for the start.

For those of you who have driven from the UK or who have rented a car, please ensure that you leave plenty of time to get to the start and find your start pen.

The 2024 Etape du Tour

The Etape du Tour start is done in waves. You will be allocated a start pen with a time that you must enter the pen plus a start time. Previous editions have started between 07:00 and 08:30. The Etape du Tour is a race with cut off points. You need to have passed certain points on the route at a certain time otherwise you will be eliminated from the route. If you’re eliminated your bike will go on a bike trailer and you will be transported to the finish. 

Getting back to your hotel after the Etape du Tour

After you finish the Etape, you'll just need to roll back to your hotel - no need to wait around for buses! If you need assistance, we'll be there to help.

This afternoon and early evening we’ll assist you with re-packing your bikes ahead of travel and you’ll also be able to return your rental bikes with us.

This evening, join us for our party at a local bar or restaurant.

Monday, 8th July 2024: Departure

After breakfast we offer our optional transfers back to Nice Airport at set times.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS 2024 ETAPE DU TOUR

NICE AIRPORT TO VALBERG AND BEUIL 

In addition to your 2024 Etape du Tour package with Sportive Breaks, we offer airport transfers for you, your luggage, and your bike from Nice airport at set times. If you wish to make use of these then you are required to book your flights in line with our transfer timings.

AVAILABLE AT £90 (£45 each way) PER PERSON FOR A RETURN AIRPORT TRANSFER AT SET TIMES

Please note the transfer times below and consider these when booking your flights. Please ensure that you arrive in plenty of time ahead of your chosen transfer time. We will do our utmost to accommodate you on the next transfer if you do arrive late but we cannot guarantee that there is space on the next transfer.

At time of booking, we ask you to select a transfer arrival time and a departure time. We understand that flights may be booked later so it will be possible to amend these times until 60 days before arrival day. We can’t guarantee availability as spaces are limited and popular times may sell out so the earlier the time is confirmed the better.

ARRIVAL TRANSFERS ON FRIDAY 4th JULY

We will depart Nice Airport at the following times, so please book a flight that lands in Nice well before to give you time to collect your luggage and meet us in the arrivals area. Transfer time is around two hours depending on the time of day. We will not depart later than 18.30 to allow time for the transfer so we arrive in time for the evening meal.

Arrival Transfer Times

1. Earlier arrivals – Contact us for private transfer options.

2. 12.30 – Arrival at hotel at about 14.30

3. 14.30 – Arrival at hotel at about 16.30

4. 16.30 – Arrival at hotel at about 18.30

5. 18.30 – Arrival at hotel at about 20.30

6. Later arrivals – Contact us for private transfer options. Evening meal may not be available. 

RETURNING HOME – DEPARTURE FROM VALBERG AND BEUIL ON MONDAY 8th JULY

Please consider 2 hour and 30 minutes for transfer time and time in resort to allow for collection together with the 2-hour check-in requirement. Please avoid booking early flights from Nice airport as our first airport transfer will not depart until 06.00.

Departure Transfer Times

1. 06.00 – for flights that depart after 11.00

2. 07.00 – for flights that depart after 12.00

3. 09.00 – for flights that depart after 14.00

4. 11.00 – for flights that depart after 16.00
