Thursday 21st September, 2023: Travel to Cesenatico

Please make your own arrangements to get to your hotel in Cesenatico today.

Our Hotel

We are staying at the Hotel David. The hotel is located within minutes of the start and the finish in Cesenatico and is booked on a Half Board basis, with breakfasts and evening meals included as well as post-ride buffets. You will also have free access to the following:

·       Access to the Spa and Wellness centre

·       Laundry service for cycling kit

·       Secure bike store with video surveillance and tools and bike wash

·       Gym access

What about my bike?

Your bike can be safely stored over the weekend in the hotel.

This afternoon and early evening, is free for you to build your bike before enjoying an evening meal at the hotel. If you plan on arriving late, please make alternative arrangements for your evening meal.

Friday 22nd September, 2023: Guided Ride

This morning enjoy your breakfast in the hotel.

If you haven't alredy built your bike, then this morning is a good opportunity to do that, before heading out for a spin to make sure everything is in working order.

Once you return to the hotel, you will be treated to a buffet after which the afternoon is free for you to relax - we recommend visiting the Marco Pantani museum.

A meal will be available at the hotel in the evening.

Saturday 23rd September, 2023: Preparation Day

After breakfast and any final bike adjustments, we recommend a short spin to keep your legs moving, but nothing too strenuous the day before the sportive.

Registration & Expo

Today you need to visit the expo to collect your race bib and pack, it is just a short ride from our hotels, which we suggest you do whilst taking your morning ride.

This evening enjoy a meal at your hotel in preparation for tomorrows big day...

Sunday 24th September, 2023: The Gran Fondo Nove Colli

Today is the day! There's an early start this morning. Early breakfasts are arranged in the hotel restaurants.

Getting to the start

It’s just a short roll out from each of our hotels to the start line. Please make your own way to the start this morning, based on your own start time.

The pens are open from 06:00, ready for a 07:00 start. Participants are expected to complete the race any time from 13:00 (for those on the shorter route) and 21:00. 

There will be an evening meal at the hotel tonight, where you can share tales of your exploits with the other riders that are sure to be staying at the hotel

Monday 25th September, 2023: Departure

After breakfast, it's time to check out and depart Cesenatico. 

Time limits

204 km route = 12 hours

130 km route = 7 hours 30 minutes

For the 204 km route cyclists must pass through the village of Sogliano al Rubicone before 12.15 p.m.

Registration

The race is open to all male or female riders that are at least 17 years old. Participation is subject to provision of a medical certificate: a certificate of fitness to practice competitive cycling (certificates for other types of sports such as triathlon, duathlon, athletics, etc. are not valid)

How to book

Please make your booking by clicking the orange book now button. Please ensure that you select the correct room type for all members in your party plus all the required extras. When you book, we will require a deposit to confirm your place. 

Payments

We offer all our customers a payment schedule where you pay in instalments without fees. When you confirm your booking, we will take a deposit payment. Subsequent payments are taken automatically. The cost of the event entry is non-refundable.

Please note that you need a medical certificate to take part in the 2023 Gran Fondo Nove Colli.

Cesenatico is a small town in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in the centre of the Romagna Riviera. It is well connected to the rest of Italy thanks to its position on the Adriatic ridge and can be reached easily by car, train or plane. In the cycling world, Cesenatico is known as the training ground of Marco Pantani and for the Gran Fondo Nove Colli. In 2020 the Giro d’Italia paid homage to the Nove Colli with Stage 12 where the riders tackled the 9 hills on a circular stage starting and finishing in Cesenatico.

BY PLANE

Cesenatico is close to three international airports:

·       BLQ Bologna G. Marconi Airport – 80 km from Cesenatico

·       RMI Rimini F. Fellini Airport – 25 km from Cesenatico

·       FRL L. Ridolfi Airport in Forlì – 40 km from Cesenatico

Rent a car at the airport or take our airport transfer from Bologna.

BY TRAIN

Cesenatico station is on the Rimini-Ravenna railway line. From north and south: arrive at Rimini central station, served by national and high-speed trains, and then change onto a regional train for Cesenatico. More information: www.trenitalia.it
