2023 UCI Individual Time Trial World Championships

The UCI Cycling World Championships are coming to Scotland in August 2023. Sportive Breaks are the official fan and amateur participant travel and experiences provider of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow and Scotland.

Individual Time Trial in Stirling

The 2023 Individual Time Trial World Championships will take place in Stirling as part of the first ever multi-discipline Cycling World Championships, taking place throughout Scotland between 3 – 13 August. The Time Trial World Championships will take place from Wednesday 9th August, kicking off with the U23 Men, followed by the Junior and Elite Women on Thursday 10th August and finishing up with the Junior and Elite Men on Friday 11th August.

These Championships, featuring 13 World Championships across 7 disciplines including Track & Para Track Cycling will be the biggest showcase of two-wheeled action that the world has seen. It will be the first time that the Individual Time Trial World Championships have come to Scotland, having been part of the Road Cycling World Championships in Wollongong in 2022.

The World Championships are the one-off, single chance to win World Champion medals and coveted rainbow jerseys, with all riders representing their countries.

About Individual Time Trial

The UCI Individual Time Trial World Championships will take place over three days in Stirling and on the surrounding roads. The event takes place on closed roads, and the beauty of these races is that you can spectate for free, from the roadside, all around the course!

The Individual Time Trial is a true test of rider and machine – setting off individually with one to two minute gaps between riders there is no hiding in the race of truth. Aerodynamics are critical in this event, with futuristic looking bicycles and helmets and the tightest of clothing.

Riders will look to eek out every second over the course and maintain the highest power possible for the duration with every pedal stroke crucial to their result. The winner is the rider with the fastest time to complete the course.

You don’t want to miss this unique opportunity to watch this captivating event where it can come down to hundredths of seconds between riders to determine who will take home the rainbow jersey!
