At the top of the Kemmelberg, you will be at the centre of all the action on one of Flanders’ most iconic cobbled hills. At the highest point of the province, you will see no fewer than five passages; the Elite Men's race passes 3 times and the Women’s Elite race passes twice. There is a good chance that you will be cheering the winner over the top!

Welcome to 'Flanders Week', the best week of the year for Belgium cycling fans! Since 2018, the series consist of five races, starting with the Classic Brugge-De Panne race, E3 Harelbeke, Gent-Wevelgem, Dwars door Vlaandere and ending with the UCI World Tour, the classic Tour of Flanders.

Dubbed as the 'sprinters classic' due to its flat finishing terrain, Gent-Wevelgem rolls through Flanders Fields, an area known from the First World War. Ironically, the race doesn't start in Gent, it used to start right at its outskirts, in Deinze, however this has changed and it starts just 16 miles west of Wevelgem, in Ypres, despite the fact that the race is now longer.

So come along, and discover the history behind Flanders Fields where you can visit the memorial sites from the First World War when you visit Ypres. Discover the chronicles, events and remembrances behind the affairs that took place in Flanders Fields.
