2024 Gran Fondo Milan-Sanremo with Sportive Breaks

Milan-Sanremo takes place in March, and is the first of the 5 Monuments of Cycling. It is the longest one day event of the entire Pro calendar. The Granfondo MILAN – SAN REMO cicloturista in June covers the same route as the famous Spring Classic. This is the longest one day amateur road cycling event in the world, with a distance of approximately 298km from the outskirts of Milan, crossing the Lombardy and Piedmont Plains, proceeding to the ascent of the Turchino and arriving finally at the Ligurian Riviera.

Logistics are tricky as the start and the finish are so far apart, but don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! This is your opportunity to ride the route of the longest one day event on the UCI calendar. Stay 2 nights in Milan and 1 night in Sanremo. Airport transfers are from Milan Malpensa Airport on arrival, and to Nice Airport on departure. Included as well are 3 nights hotel on half board basis, your Gran Fondo entry and the services of our local team led by Giro d’Italia stage winner Andrea Ferrigato. On race day, we offer private feed stations plus transport of your luggage to Sanremo.

Spread your payments: Our payment plan is an interest-free payment method where you will have the opportunity to spread payment for your booking.

Entry available from £95: Included with your entry is the £20 day license. Pay a £20 upgrade fee to start in the front pen.

Ride the full 300km distance of the longest race on the Pro calendar: The Pros race in March but in June you can ride your own full distance Milan-Sanremo during the Gran Fondo Milan-Sanremo.

Included with your package: Stay 2 nights in Milan near the start and 1 night in Sanremo near the finish at 4 & 3 star hotels. We include the entry, breakfasts and evening meals, guided rides, airport transfers, luggage transport from Milan to Sanremo and private feed stations.

The Gran Fondo Milan-Sanremo cicloturista covers the 300km that separate Milan from Sanremo, retracing the same roads as the Spring Classicissima. There are a couple of slight differences at the start and the finish. The starting point has been changed from the Castello Sforzesco in Milan to the south of the city, in Pieve Emanuele in order to avoid the traffic of the Lombardy capital, and the arrival is in Lungomare Salvo d’Acquisto in San Remo rather than on the Corsa Roma. The rest of the route is absolutely faithful to that followed by the professionals.

The Granfondo Milan-Sanremo cicloturista follows the same routes of the Classicissima of the centennial, with the legendary climbs of Turchino, Cipressa, and Poggio that have given this event its mythical status.

  • PASSO DEL TURCHINO – 3.2km, 373m of climbing with an average gradient of 1.4% and a max gradient of 6%
  • CAPO MELE – 2.5km, 104m of climbing with an average gradient of 5.2% and a max gradient of 6%
  • CAPO CERVO – 2.5km, 110m of climbing with an average gradient of 4.1% and a max gradient of 5%
  • CAPO BERTA – 3km, 128m of climbing with an average gradient of 4.3% and a max gradient of 8%
  • CIPRESSA – 5.6km, 226m of climbing with an average gradient of 4.1% and a max gradient of 7%
  • POGGIO DI SANREMO – 3.7km, 137m of climbing with an average gradient of 3.5% and a max gradient of 6%

Today is the day! We have an early start this morning. Early breakfasts are arranged in the hotel restaurant. Please have your luggage ready in reception as we will transport all your belongings to Sanremo whilst you ride.

Getting to the start

Our staff will be on hand this morning if you have any last-minute mechanical issues, and to give you directions to the start line.

Private feed stops and the finish

We offer private feed and support stations on the route, as you will be riding during lunch today. At the finish we will guide you over to our hotel in Sanremo.

Post-ride

In Sanremo you can have the post-ride pasta buffet. We are there to meet you and to guide you to the hotel. We’ll meet you for post-ride beers at the hotels from 17:00.
