Day One: Arrival day
Please arrange to meet us at our hotel in Bourg d'Oisans. We are staying at Hotel Le Milan on half board basis so with breakfasts and evening meals included.
You will have the afternoon to unpack, settle in and check your bike is ready for the weekend. Our mechanic will be on hand to help with any issues. We will take you for a warm up ride on the flat valley roads surrounding Bourg d'Oisans this afternoon.
If you are flying then you can make use of our airport transfers from Lyon airport. More details below.
Short warm up ride
We plan to get out on the bike this afternoon for a couple of hours before dinner. A ride in the valley from Bourg d'Oisans.
Airport transfers
Included with your 2024 Alpe d’Huez Weekender, we offer a group airport transfer for you, your luggage, and your bike from Lyon airport at a set time. If you wish to make use of this then you are required to book your flights in line with our transfer time.
Please note the transfer times below and please consider these when booking your flights. Please ensure that you arrive in plenty of time ahead of your chosen transfer time. We cannot always guarantee that we can wait for you if you arrive late.
Please note that we can’t provide refunds if you decide not to make use of our airport transfers.

Day Two: Marmotte Route
After breakfast at the hotel we will head out on our first ride to the high mountains. This spectacular route takes you into on the route of the famous Marmotte.
The Marmotte is one of the best-known and toughest Sportives in Europe. The full route has 5000m climbing and 174km of distance. After the start in Bourg d’Oisans, the route goes over the Col du Glandon. After a stretch on the flat in the Maurienne valley to St Michel de Maurienne, next up are the Col du Telegraphe and the Col du Galibier. After the Galibier there’s a lot of downhill as you descend the Col du Lautaret back to Bourg d’Oisans.
Dinner will be at the hotel in the evening.
Today's ride: 150km. Elevation: 4000m
Day Three: L'Alpe d'Huez
Today you will ride the epic Alpe d'Huez. Probably one of the most famous climbs in cycling and used many times in the Tour de France. With 21 hairpin turns to conquer, this is no easy day out but it will all be worth it when you reach the top!
Todays ride: 100km. Elevation: 3200m

Day Four: Col de Sarenne
The route today will take us up the Col de Sarenne, to the east of Alpe d'Huez. It featured on stage 18 of the 2013 Tour de France to allow riders to climb Alpe d'Huez twice. After the main climb we will follow a loop round towards Le Bourg-d'Oisans, followed by a flat road back towards the hotel with a short climb up to the resort.
In the evening we will enjoy a final meal together and celebrate our achievements throughout the week.
Today's ride: 95km. Elevation: 2800m
Day Five: Departure
After breakfast we will have a gentle warm down ride in the valley to Allemond, stopping for a coffee and a slice of French patisserie.
We will then run a transfer back to Lyon airport.
