Friday, 12th April 2024 : Arrival Day

Please make your own way to meet us in Valkenburg. Valkenburg is a 3hr30 drive from Calais if you are driving. Alternatively, we provide one airport transfer from Brussels Airport (BRU) at 11.00 (£120 supplement applies). Private airport transfers available from Brussels (BRU). Contact us for details

Our staff will assist you with getting your bikes ready after travel and if you have ordered bike rental, these will also be available. This afternoon, enjoy a coffee spin ride where we will see parts of the Amstel Gold Race.

The evening is free for you to eat out.

Saturday, 13th April 2024 : Amstel Gold Race Sportive (Toertocht)

We will have breakfast at the VIP pavilion in Valkenburg. Here there’s secure bike parking and changing facilities.

Start times:

• 06.30 – 09.00: Start 240km (orange arrows)
• 06.30 – 09.00: Start 200km (pink arrows)
• 07.00 – 11.00: Start 150km (red arrows)
• 07.00 – 11.00: Start 125km (yellow arrows)
• 07.00 – 11.00: Start 100km (blue arrows)
• 08.00 – 11.00: Start 65km (black arrows)

NOTE : If you choose to buy an entry through Sportive Breaks, we will automatically enter you for the 150km distance, as we believe that this is allows riders to get the most out of their Amstel Gold experience. if you would like to ride another distance get in contact at hello@sportivebreaks.com

For car drivers, we have parking tickets available that give access to the VIP parking area next to the start and finish in Valkenburg.

The evening is free for you to eat out.

Sunday, 14th April 2024 : 2024 Amstel Gold Race

The starting line is in Maastricht and guarantees a lively atmosphere. After the riders have set off we will take the train back to Valkenburg (10 minutes) where we will be in a great position to see several passages of the riders.

Monday, 15th April 2024 : Departure Day

After breakfast, please check out of the hotel. We provide one airport transfer to Brussels airport at 09.00 today.

Entry and Hospitality Ticket Sales

In the selling of any entry or hospitality tickets, Sportive Breaks act as an agent for the event organiser.

The Amstel Gold Race has been taking place in the southernmost province of the Netherlands Limburg every year since 1966. Every year ‘De Markt’ in Maastricht is the start venue of the Amstel Gold Race with the finish in nearby Berg en Terblijt (Valkenburg).

The Amstel Gold Race is the only Dutch classic in the Netherlands. The day before the professionals thousands of Sportive riders tackle memorable hills such as the Keutenberg; the Camerig, the Bemelerberg and the Cauberg as the finale.

How to get there

Maastricht and nearby Valkenburg are situated in the Dutch province of Zuid-Limburg, in the southernmost tip of the Netherlands. The area is surrounded by Belgium and Germany and it is not too far from the French border either. Cities like Liège, Aachen, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Brussels are just a short distance away.

By plane

Maastricht has its own airport: Maastricht-Aachen Airport. In addition, there are several (inter)national airports within an hour’s drive from the centre of Maastricht. This ensures that Maastricht & region is easily accessible from all over the world.

Airports include

• Brussels international airport (BRU) – 1h30mins
• Eindhoven Airport (EIN) - 1h30mins
• Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) – 2h30mins

By car

Maastricht and Valkenburg are easily accessible through various motorways: E25/A2 (Amsterdam-Luxembourg), E40 (Cologne-Brussels), E42 (Liège-Paris), E314 (Maastricht-Aachen).

By train

It takes just 11 minutes to get the train from Maastricht to Valkenburg so it’s a very good option to stay in Maastricht with its plentiful hotel choice and to take the train to Valkenburg. Watch the start in Maastricht and take the train to Valkenburg to watch the riders several times before they finish.

There is a direct train from Amsterdam Central to Maastricht every 30 minutes and the journey takes about 2.5 hours. Maastricht Central is just a few minutes away from the city centre by foot. Lots of hotels are within walking distance from Maastricht Central as well. Maastricht is also easily accessible by international train by Thalys and/or Eurostar from Brussels, Paris or London via Liège station.
