Dublin Marathon 2023 - Entry Only

The Dublin Marathon was first run in 1980 and has since developed into a firm favourite on the European city Marathon calendar. The Dublin Marathon is a firm favourite amongst international runners as it leads all other marathons in Europe with the number of foreign competitors taking part.

The Marathon course is a single lap, starting and finishing close to the city centre. Conditions for marathon running are ideal with the weather conditions in Dublin being mild this time of year. With the race start and finish being in the centre of Dublin, this is an easy event logistically. The course is mostly flat with a long stretch through Phoenix Park. 

The Dublin Marathon starts at Georgian Fitzwilliam Square to the East of St. Stephens Green and finishes in Merrion Square. Runners will go through Dublin's historic streets dating back to the Georgian period. Landmarks passed are Trinity College, Herbert Park, St. Stephens Green and Phoenix Park.
