Here at Sportive Breaks we have years of experience of organising travel packages to Gent Wevelgem and we’re looking forward to welcoming amateur cyclists again in Belgium on the 24th of March 2024.

We are staying in Kortrijk so you can’t be better placed for both the Sportive on the Saturday and to watch the Pros battle it out during race day on the Sunday.

Gent Wevelgem, in Flanders Fields, is the ideal start to your Sportive calendar. Climb the cobbles of the Kemmelberg, ride the gravel Plugstreets and battle the wind in De Moeren. Then, the next day you can watch the pros tackle the very same roads, as the classics specialists look for an early season win. Stay with us in Kortrijk, the closest city to Wevelgem.

Stay in Kortrijk, close to the start and finish of the Saturday sportive, as well as the finish of both the men’s and women’s pro races on Sunday.

Guided warm up ride and pro race viewing: On Friday afternoon we invite you for a 50km guided ride over some local cobbles, taking in the last section of E3 Harelbeke ahead of the pros, before watching the sprint finish from the roadside. Wout van Aert won the E3 in 2024 and took second in Gent Wevelgem two days later behind team mate Laporte.

Friday, 22nd March 2024 : Arrival Day

Most people drive to Gent Wevelgem. Kortrijk is a short 1hr30 drive from Calais. Private transfers available from Brussels (BRU). Contact us for details

Arrive in Kortrijk in time for lunch. From 2pm enjoy a 50km coffee spin where we will see parts of the E3 Harelbeke (including a cobbled section and a climb). We will check out the E3 finish line before heading back to the hotel. Wout van Aert beat Mathieu van der Poel in 2023 to win the E3.

Saturday, 23rd March 2024 : Gent Wevelgem Cyclo Sportive

Early breakfast at the hotel. Mechanic support before riding the short distance to the start line. Starting times are open from 07:00 and 10:00 depending on your chosen route. Private feed stop 50km before the finish. Social post ride beers in the hotel bar.

Sunday, 24th March 2024 : Gent Wevelgem Pro Race

The starting line is in Ypres and guarantees a lively atmosphere. Our race day package includes watching the start of the race before cycling a route that offers fantastic views from three vantage points. We end the cycle at the finish line and celebrate with a beer.

Monday, 25th March 2024 : Departure Day

After breakfast it's time to leave Kortrijk. If you have a transfer booked for today, we'll let you know the departure time with your final itinerary.

Welcome to 'Flanders Week', the best week of the year for Belgium cycling fans! Since 2018, the series consist of five races, starting with the Classic Brugge-De Panne race, E3 Harelbeke, Gent-Wevelgem, Dwars door Vlaanderen and ending with one of the Mounuments, the classic Tour of Flanders.

Dubbed as the 'sprinters classic' due to its flat finishing terrain, Gent-Wevelgem rolls through Flanders Fields, an area known from the First World War. Ironically, the race doesn't start in Gent, it used to start right at its outskirts, in Deinze, however this has changed and it starts just 16 miles west of Wevelgem, in Ypres.

So come along, and discover the history behind Flanders Fields where you can visit the memorial sites from the First World War when you visit Ypres. Discover the chronicles, events and remembrances behind the affairs that took place in Flanders Fields.
