Thursday 25th April 2024: Arrival day
3 days of gravel with a star-shaped route, discovering an authentic and unique region, allowing you to challenge yourself physically. Our guide will help you get to grips with the special features of gravel bikes and give you invaluable riding tips. The aim is to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible and get the most out of the landscapes.
We will pick you, and your gravel bike if you are bringing your own, from Ajaccio airport at 5 pm.
You will be staying in comfortable accommodation:?Our passionate host will tell you the story of the eco-shepherd's hut he built with his own hands. A life project for this epicurean who loves travelling, cooking and meeting people.
Friday 26th April 2024: Guided Ride
Let’s discover the Ortolo Valley and its famous local wineries. Starting from Tribu, our Basecamp, we will climb to reach the valley next to where we stay.
With sceneries looking very much like South Africa and amazing wineries, our first stop will be at our friends of Domaine de Saparale. The owner Julie and her team will be very happy to have you visit the property and taste some of their wines.
After we will ride along the Ortolo River to reach the end of the Valley and enjoy amazing views on the mountains around. Take a break and get ready for today’s main climb, partly on the road and with a finish on amazing Gravel, it will definitely reward you with stunning views of this wine Valley.
Saturday 27th April 2024: Guided Ride
A short transfer by van to drive you up the center mountains and the region of Alta Rocca for definitely the Queen stage of our trip!
Warming up around the Bavella peaks with a secret gravel route that only the locals know of. It will bring you, off the beaten track to the village of Quenza from where will start the climb to the mythical Coccione plateau.
We have special agreement to be able to cross this protected plateau on our Gravel bike. Be ready for wilderness, local boars, horses and cows and watch out for the Pozzin these tiny rivers that are both underground and above ground. We promise you challenge and total disconnection, the perfect place for an unforgettable day on the bike.
After the incredible descent and leaving the Coscione area, we will head back towards the Vaccia mountain path and descent towards Aullène where the van will pick us up and drive back to Tribu our basecamp.
Sunday 28th April 2024: Guided Ride & Departure Day
Our last day brings us to the remote Cala di Conca. Departing from our Base camp, we will bring you by the seaside, with a breathtaking 12km descent on gravel to bring us to a secluded beach… after a potential short swim, we will keep gravel riding in the local bush called Maquis to reach the little city of Tizanno and head back to Tribu.
We will provide a return transfer to Ajaccio airport, dropping off at 5 pm.
