Your Experience

In late Spring and early Autumn Provence boasts ideal cycling temperatures, with miles of quiet, tarmacked roads and some breathtakingly beautiful rolling terrain. Most travellers head here for one reason, the mighty Mont Ventoux, but also leave with incredible memories of the tranquil local lanes and smaller climbs. As well as Mont Ventoux, you'll also explore the Luberon and ride the beautiful Gorges de La Nesque.

Our 5-day, 4-night trip is ridden at a relaxed pace, aiming for 100km per day with around 5 hours of riding. Once done you will have plenty of time to enjoy your evenings in this charming area. Either take on the French game of Boules, explore the local markets or load-up on those essential carbs at one of Bedoin’s famous patisseries.

Our Package includes daily guided rides including:

  1. Friday's ride goes to the stunning Luberon Valley
  2. Saturday's ride to the amazing Gorges de la Nesque
  3. Saturday it’s time for GF Mont Ventoux, choose from two distances of 100km or 122km.

After breakfast we will meet for the first ride of the weekend. The route will fully loop the mighty Mont Ventoux, taking it in from every side. You can get a feel for what is in store on Saturday's ride. Pause and have lunch in the sun in the town of Sault. Freshen up for a carb-reload dinner at the hotel.

Todays ride: 85km. Elevation: 1250m

Day Three: Tour of the Lauberon

Ride to the ancient hilltop city of Gordes for lunch, taking in some stunning Provencal scenery. Our route also adds in a few small climbs before we head back to the hotel.

Day Four: GF Mont Ventoux

Breakfast will be served at 6.00am and we will depart the hotel at 07:00am

Today is the Gran Fondo Mont Ventoux. There are two distances to choose from. The Gran Fondo starts in Bedoin and covers 122km with 3600m of elevation. The Medio Fondo starst in Sault and covers 100km and 2600m of elevation. You will also need to descend down Ventoux which will add a further 30km to each ride. You can then enjoy the finish area and relax after a hard day in the saddle.

After the event we will make our way back to the hotel to enjoy the last evening meal at the hotel.

For other countries, please check with the relevant local authorities.

Travel Insurance

Minimum numbers

At Sportive Breaks virtually all our trips are guaranteed to run. Some of our guided cycling tours, warm weather cycling weeks and weekenders however require a minimum number of participants to enable us to operate them.

We reserve the right to cancel any holiday where this minimum number is not achieved. You will be advised before your booking is accepted of the minimum number applicable to your holiday unless the trip is already guaranteed to run. Failure to achieve the applicable minimum number does not, however, oblige us to cancel.

Trip status labels

No label -> The trip is not subject to minimum numbers, so is guaranteed to go ahead.

Available -> Open for bookings. Please hold off with booking flights.

Guaranteed Departure -> You are free to book your flights and other travel arrangements.

Limited Availability -> Guaranteed to depart but only a few places remain.

Once the minimum number has been reached, the trip status will change from 'Available' to 'Guaranteed to Depart'. Once a trip is guaranteed to depart you are free to book your flights and make other travel arrangements. If the trip status is ‘Limited’ then we have only a small number of spaces available for booking. If you are unsure about the trip status, please email or call our office.

We will notify you of cancellation for this reason by the date by which full payment of your trip cost must be received by us (normally 12 weeks before departure).

Please note that we will not be liable for any costs, expenses, or losses you incur (for example, in respect of flights) because of the cancellation of any trip due to lack of minimum numbers. You are accordingly recommended not to incur any non-refundable expenditure until you have received confirmation that your trip is guaranteed to operate or after the deadline for cancellation for this reason if later.

Location

By Air:
