Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before or depart on different days to the following itinerary. Rome is an incredible city with plenty to see and do. The itinerary below reflects the 3 nights package and allows you the time to enjoy the city and receive support from our team. We recommend extending your stay, especially if you have not visited Rome before.

Friday 15 March, 2024 - Welcome meeting & Shake-out run.

Make your own arrangements to arrive at Hotel Lancelot in Rome today. Usually, hotel rooms are ready to check in after 12:30pm. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel and explore your surroundings.

Early this evening Marathon Tours & Travel invite you to join us in the hotel lobby before leaving for an optional run in the local area. It will acquaint you with the local area and shake-out any travel tiredness. The run will be easy and at a pace comfortable for all fitness levels. A perfect opportunity to ask questions and get to know fellow runners.

Saturday 16 March, 2024 - Expo & Pasta dinner

After breakfast we will escort you to the Expo to collect your race registration pack. However, if you wish to make your own way there, in your own time instructions will be provided with the final itinerary. Your race pack must be collected before the registration closes this evening. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Marathon Tours & Travel team will be happy to suggest some sightseeing options.

Tonight, please join us for a pre-race 3 course meal with water, wine, coffee included at our hotel.

Sunday 17 March, 2024 - Race Day and celebrations!

Breakfast will be available early. Those running the Rome Marathon will easily be able to walk to the start from Hotel Lancelot. The race start area is less than 10 minutes walk. Please leave plenty of extra time to make your way through the crowds. to drop off your bag (if you chose this option) and to find your specific start pen. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials, run, and have fun!

After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up, celebrate…you deserve it!

Tonight, we will gather in the hotel bar for a post-race celebration and drink!

Monday 18 March, 2024 - Departure Day

How to book

To make your booking, click on the orange button at the top of the page, ensuring that you select the correct number of rooms and types for all members in your party plus all the required extras. When you book, we will require a deposit to confirm your place.

Payments

When you confirm your booking, we will take a deposit payment. Subsequent payments are taken automatically. The cost of the event entry is non-refundable.

Travel advice

Before you travel, check the ‘Entry requirements’ section for Italy’s current entry restrictions and requirements.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend travellers to take out comprehensive travel insurance with sufficient healthcare cover, including cover for existing medical conditions and any activities you plan to do.

You must ensure that your travel insurance policy covers you to participate in running events.

All official race rules must be followed.

Starting Times and Bib Numbers

Although we are licensed to sell official entries for the 2024 Rome Marathon, we have no influence over the allocation of starting times and bib numbers. After purchasing your race entry with us, you will be sent a link to complete the registrations process. Please do not expect it immediately after booking - it will be sent when Rome Marathon send the links to us. The race organisers will allocate you a starting time and bib based on the information you provide.

Weather

Average temperatures on race day are between 45 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

Eligibility

Athletes need to be 20 years or older on race day.

Non-competitive entry

Participation is allowed for non-Italians living abroad, who are not members of a Sports Club affiliated with World Athletics (former IAAF), signing an ad hoc waiver form. The race time will not be displayed in the general leader board but will rather only be available next to the Athlete's name, in alphabetical order, in a separate result table and the Athlete will not be able to win any prizes. Time limit to finish the marathon is 6h30.

Competitive entry

Competitive runners or Italian citizens who are not members of a national athletic federation affiliated with World Athletics (former IAAF) or FIDAL are required to purchase a RunCard and provide a medical certificate. If you are not able to obtain the above, please sign up as a non-competitive runner.

Tucked away in a quiet street, only 5 minutes’ walk to the Colosseum and yet there are plenty of shops, wine bars and trattorie to give the neighbourhood a lively and authentic “local” feel. You can find many Rome’s historical sights such as the Roman Forum, the Palatine and Piazza Venezia within an easy walk. The Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain are a 15 to 20 minute bus ride from the hotel or can also be easily reached on foot.

To give you energy you can start each day with a traditional roman breakfast of ‘cappuccino e cornetto’ (coffee and Italian croissant), together with a choice of fruit juices, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, dried fruit, nuts, roman bread, homemade cakes & jams, cold meats, cheese, smoked salmon and eggs.

The hotel bar/lounge offers coffee, tea and a range of drinks. A lovely place to relax and unwind after a busy day.
