Venice Marco Polo (VCE) Airport Transfers (optional extra)

We will have 2 transfers today from Marco Polo, at 1200 (midday) and 1800. You will be welcomed at the airport and your coach will be waiting outside the terminal. We will also transport your bike in its box or bag.

Our hotel

Once an old spinning mill, where until the 60’s the silk was worked, now, after a unique refurbishment, a modern 4 stars hotel. Rare example of recovery of a XIX Century industrial building that keeps alive being a reference for the territory. Few steps away from Cittadella historical walls, the hotel boasts 71 Rooms, 4 Meeting Rooms, a private inner garden and a renowned Restaurant: il Filandino. Hotel Filanda is close to the Old City Centre in a quiet location.

What about my bike?

You can bring your own bike as bikes can be safely stored at the hotel. Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to assist you with building your own bike after travel.

Event Registration

You must register for the event and collect your race pack. The registration venue is at the following location in Cittadella: Palazzo Pretorio, Via Guglielmo Marconi 30, Cittadella (PD)

Please make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel in Cittadella today. Please ensure that you arrive in time to check-in, prepare your bike plus collect your race pack and register for the event.

Venice Marco Polo (VCE) Airport Transfers (optional extra)

We will have 1 transfer today from Marco Polo, at 1200 (midday). You will be welcomed at the airport and your coach will be waiting outside the terminal. We will also transport your bike in its box or bag.

Guided Ride (for those who arrived yesterday)

After breakfast and any final bike adjustments, we will take you on a supported, guided ride exploring the course.

After the ride, please make your way to the event expo in Cittadella to collect your race pack and attend the technical briefing for tomorrow’s event.

Event Registration

You must register for the event and collect your race pack. The registration venue is at the following location in Cittadella: Palazzo Pretorio, Via Guglielmo Marconi 30, Cittadella (PD)

Today is the day! We will provide a short warm up ride for all those who are not racing today.

Venice Airport Transfers (VCE) (optional extra)

If you have booked ur airport transfers to Venice Airport then there are 2 departure times from the hotel :

Transfer 1 : Depart 0800, arrive Marco Polo 0930 (allowing for traffic). Please book flights to depart after 1130

Transfer 2 : Depart midday, arrive Marco Polo 1330 (allowing for traffic). Please book flights to depart after 1530

Who can take part?

Each UCI Gravel World Series event of the 2022-2023 seasons grants qualification rights for the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships. Events Calendar available here. Based on the results of each race, the first 20% of athletes in each age group will be qualified for the UCI Gravel World Championships. The 20% is calculated based on the number of starters in each age group, and not on the number of riders having finished the race. In addition, the first three riders of each official age category will qualify directly for the UCI Gravel World Championships, independently of the number of starters in that age group. Riders must finish the race to gain qualification. The age categories of the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships are:

Jersey is obligatory

It is mandatory for a rider to wear their national kit at the UCI Gravel World Championships Time Trial, Team Relay and Road Race. Although the official national jersey is not required, a jersey representing their country with a similar design and colours as the original national team jersey is required. Private or club sponsors are allowed to be featured on the national jersey.

Medical certificate

Please note you need a medical certificate to take part in the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships.

Registration

The race is open to all male or female riders that are at least 17 years old. Participation is subject to provision of a medical certificate: a certificate of fitness to practice competitive cycling (certificates for other types of sports such as triathlon, duathlon, athletics, etc. are not valid)

Veneto

BY PLANE

Cittadella is close to two international airports:

• Treviso-Sant'Angelo Airport – Treviso (TSF) – 32km
• Venice Marco Polo Airport – Venice (VCE) - 47km

Venice Marco Polo has the most direct international flights so our airport transfers will be operating from this airport. Rent a car at the airport or take the train or our airport transfer.

BY TRAIN

Cittadella train station is only 5 minutes’ walk from the town centre. Cittadella is on the junction of the train lines Padova – Bassano del Grappa and Vicenza – Treviso.

BY CAR

Cittadella is part of the ancient Roman road network; the junction between the SS 47 “Valsugana” (Padua – Trento) and the SR 53 “Postumia” (Vicenza – Treviso) lies just a few hundred metres outside the town. Cittadella is in a strategic position, being within easy reach from Padua (29 km), Vicenza (22 km), Treviso (38 km) and Bassano del Grappa (14 km).

Coach lines:

Buses to Cittadella run regularly from Vicenza, Treviso, Padua and Bassano. The line Vicenza – Treviso is run by La Marca bus operator, whereas the line Padova – Bassano is run by Sita. There are several bus stops located just outside the town walls.
