What about my bike?

You can bring your own bike as bikes can be safely stored at the hotel. Our mechanic will be available this afternoon at the hotel to assist you with building your own bike after travel.

Event Registration

You must register for the event and collect your race pack. 

4th October : Arrival 3-night itinerary

Please make your own arrangements to arrive at our hotel today. Please ensure that you arrive in time to check-in, prepare your bike plus collect your race pack and register for the event.

We will have 1 transfer today from. You will be welcomed at the airport and your coach will be waiting outside the terminal. We will also transport your bike in its box or bag.

Guided Ride (for those who arrived yesterday)

After breakfast and any final bike adjustments, we will take you on a supported, guided ride exploring the course.

After the ride, please make your way to the event expo to collect your race pack and attend the technical briefing for tomorrow’s event.

Event Registration

5th October : Women Elite, Women Age Groups, Men over 50

Today is the day! We will provide a short warm up ride for all those who are not racing today.

We will depart the hotel in plenty of time ahead of the start of the racing today. Our team will be available this morning if you have any last-minute mechanical issues, or if you need any other assistance.

6th October : Men Elite plus Men’s Age groups

Today is the day! 

Today we provide a convenient bike transport service to the start line. We will depart the hotel in plenty of time ahead of the start of the racing today. Our team will be available this morning if you have any last-minute mechanical issues, or if you need any other assistance.

Evening meal and after-party at the hotel

7th October : Departure

After breakfast, please check out of the hotel and depart.

Who can take part?

Each UCI Gravel World Series event of the 2023-2024 seasons grants qualification rights for the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships. Based on the results of each race, the first 25% of athletes in each age group will be qualified for the UCI Gravel World Championships. The 25% is calculated based on the number of starters in each age group, and not on the number of riders having finished the race. In addition, the first three riders of each official age category will qualify directly for the UCI Gravel World Championships, independently of the number of starters in that age group. Riders must finish the race to gain qualification. The age categories of the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships are:

• 35 – 39
• 40 – 44
• 45 – 49
• 50 – 54
• 55 – 59
• 60 – 64
• 65 – 69
• 70 – 74
• 75 – 79

Jersey is obligatory

It is mandatory for a rider to wear their national kit at the UCI Gravel World Championships Time Trial, Team Relay and Road Race. Although the official national jersey is not required, a jersey representing their country with a similar design and colours as the original national team jersey is required. Private or club sponsors are allowed to be featured on the national jersey.

Medical certificate

Please note you do not need a medical certificate to take part in the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships.

Registration

The race is open to all male or female riders that are at least 17 years old. Participation is subject to provision of a medical certificate: a certificate of fitness to practice competitive cycling (certificates for other types of sports such as triathlon, duathlon, athletics, etc. are not valid)

Travel Insurance

For details of specialist sports travel insurance for our travel packages, please visit our insurance page. You must ensure that your travel insurance policy covers you to participate in cycling events in Belgium. Please remember to insure your bike for foreign travel.

The women elite race on Saturday 5th October 2024 while the men elite have their race on Sunday 6th October 2024 (dates TBC). All races start in Halle with finish in Leuven.

Amateur and masters’ riders can race together with the pros. They start in later waves as they battle it out for a world title in their respective age groups. Women age groups and men over 50 race on Saturday while men of the age groups 19 to 49 start behind the men elite on Sunday.
