Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before or depart on different days to the following itinerary. The itinerary below reflects the 3 nights package. Marrakech has plenty to see and do so we recommend extra nights and optional tours.
Friday 27 January, 2023 : Travel to Marrakech
Make your way to Marrakech. At the airport our staff will welcome you and arrange your transport to our hotel. If you arrive in the morning leave your luggage with the hotel and head off to explore local attractions. documents.
What about my race bib collection?
If you have booked your Marrakech Marathon race entry with us our staff in Marrakech will collect your race bib in advance. This will be given to you at the hotel. There is therefore no necessity to visit the Expo/race registration venue unless you wish to visit in your own time. If you did not book your race entry with us you will need to collect your bib from race registration at Jardin 16 Novembre, Gueliz Plaza (next to Guéliz Central Post Office), approx. 25 minutes walk from our hotel. How do I contact Marathon Tours & Travel staff during my stay?
Staff with local knowledge of Marrakech and the race will be available to you at certain times. A contact number will be provided with your final documents and itinerary.
The rest of the day and evening is free for you to enjoy at your leisure.

Saturday 28 January, 2023 : Preparation Day
After breakfast, relax and enjoy Marrakech at your own pace. There is plenty to see and do in the city centre and surrounds, the famous Jemaa-el-Fna square and its Koutoubia mosque or enjoy fun in the Winter sun at the hotel with its many restaurants, swimming pool, spa and beautiful gardens.

Sunday 29 January, 2023 : The Marrakech Marathon & Half Marathon
This is the day you have trained so hard for!
How do I get to the race start?
After an early breakfast you will walk approx. 5 minutes from our hotel to the race start. On arrival at the start please follow the instructions of the race officials.
The Marrakech Marathon & Half Marathon
With the start of the race between 7.30 and 8am, depending on the distance chosen, the temperatures could be around 6 to 12°C and gradually increase to exceed 20°C over the last kilometres.
With musicians along the route or locals watching runners passing through their neighbourhood for an exchange of smiles or a high 5, let yourself be immersed in this very special atmosphere that will brighten up your race and pull you through to the finish line. The course will allow you to run along the famous city walls and is flat and fast. The maximum time you can do on the marathon is 5 hours 30 minutes or 3 hours for the half marathon.
Family and friends who did not enter the race?
You can travel by foot or public transport in your own time and pace to support and spectate along the race route. The local staff will be happy to advise.
After the race make your way back to the hotel, perhaps soak up some winter sun with a cool drink and your feet up, in the hotel gardens or by the swimming pool! Celebrate…you deserve it!

The finish area is the same as the start area, approx. 5 minutes walk.

Monday 30 January, 2023 : Departure
Transport from our hotel to the airport is provided. Time to say goodbye unless you wish to extend your stay!
