Your Experience

The 2023 Brighton Marathon Weekend takes place in April 2023 on Saturday April 1st and Sunday April 2nd. Not just a Marathon, the weekend includes lots of different events as well as a fantastic Beach Expo Village focussed on running, cycling and general sport.

All runners are required to come and collect their race pack in person in Brighton so a stay of at least 1 night in Brighton is a good idea if you don't live locally.

On Saturday 1st of April, you can not only visit the Beach Expo Village to collect your marathon entry but there are also the mini mile races for the youngsters. On Sunday, there's the BM 10k which takes place just before the Marathon as well as the BM bike ride which is a 50km Sportive on closed roads.

Over 12,000 runners take part in the marathon each April, enjoying a course that starts in Preston Park at 9.45am, snakes its way through Brighton city centre, along the glorious seafront and finishes at the iconic Madeira Drive in front of thousands of cheering spectators.

Celebrate with friends and family in the huge Beach Village complete with  great shopping, food, drink and live big-screen action.

Enjoy an atmosphere like no other in this bustling, vibrant city, which welcomes thousands of particiants and spectators each year.

Destination Sport Experiences are official travel partner for the 2023 Brighton Marathon Weekend. We offer guaranteed entry for the 10k, BM ride and of course the Marathon.

We offer a variety of hotels in Brighton centre within walking distance of the start, the finish and the Brighton Marathon Beach Village Expo.

Your Itinerary

The below itinerary covers the full weekend. We offer 1, 2 or 3 night hotel stays. Stay Friday to Monday, Friday, Saturday or just 1 night on the Saturday or Sunday.

Friday 31st March 2023 : Optional early arrival day and race pack collection

Each of our hotels are available to be booked from today if you wish to make your Brighton Marathon weekend last a little bit longer. Come and visit our Expo stand at the Brighton Marathon Beach Expo village.

Saturday 1st April 2023 : Arrival and race pack collection

Make your way to Brighton and on arrival check in to your chosen hotel. Usually hotel rooms are ready after 3pm; if you arrive earlier please be prepared to leave your luggage with the hotel concierge and head off to the Marathon Expo to collect your race documents. Race documents must be collected from the Brighton Marathon Beach Village on the beach at Madeira Drive, either on Friday 31st March or Saturday 1st April 2023.

The Beach Village is a 3-day event in its own right, taking place across the entire weekend. It will open on the Friday, comprising race pack collection, retail, massage and food & drink as well as the Charity Village and big screen. The Expo has plenty to see and do, so allow plenty of time to collect your race documents, shop from the many exhibitors, listen to the experts on stage and enjoy the pre-race day vibe.

The Race and Rider Pack Collection marquee will be located in the Beach Village on Brighton beach, just east of Brighton Palace Pier. Head to the pier and walk along the prom towards the Marina. There will be limited parking in the immediate area, so we advise walking or taxi drop off.

Collection will be available at the below times:

Friday 31st March 2023: 11am – 7pm

Saturday 1st April 2023: 10am – 6pm

When you arrive, queuing lanes will be clearly marked and you should choose the lane that is relevant to your event. Once inside the marquee choose the lane according to your predicted finish time, now you have completed your training.

The rest of the day you can relax and prepare for race. If you have any questions, come and meet with one of the Destination Sport Experiences Team at the Beach Village.

Mini mile

This also the day of the mini mile races.

Sunday 2nd April 2023 : RACE DAY - 10k, BM Ride and Marathon

This is the day you have trained so hard for! After an early breakfast please get ready to leave the hotel for the 10k, the BM ride or the 2023 Brighton Marathon.

Celebrate with friends and family in the huge Beach Village complete with shopping, food, drink and big screens. On the Sunday (Race Day), the Beach Village will become a hive of activity and celebration as runners reunite with friends and family and enjoy the live footage on big screens, the Charity Village, food, bars and an atmosphere like no other at a running event.

Family and friends can organsie their days in their own time and pace to support and spectate along the race route. The Destination Sport Experiences team will be happy to advise. After the race make your way back to the hotel, freshen up, celebrate…you deserve it!
