Monday 09 December 2024

Today you will arrive into Auckland International Airport. Once you have cleared customs and collected your bags, please meet your Tri Travel team leaders in the arrivals hall who will assist with your bus transfer to Taupo. Bus transfer will depart at 1pm - please book flights that allow you to make this transfer time.

After arriving into Taupo and checking-in, we will take you to the supermarket to collect groceries for the week.

Tuesday 10 December 2024

After yesterday’s long day of travel, this morning we will walk across the road and have an easy swim with the team in Lake Taupo. This afternoon we will do an easy run to loosen the legs and catch up for a welcome drink before you head off to dinner.

Wednesday 11 December 2024

After breakfast we will make our way over for one lap of the run course on our air-conditioned bus pointing out all the key elements. We then turn our attention to the bike course where our tour leaders will provide tips and ideas on how to have your best day out on the course.

Thursday 12 December 2024

Today we will meet at the swim start and take you over the course. Our experienced tour leaders will explain the race start procedure and how to make your way through transition. We will go down to the race village to check out the Expo plus register for the race to collect our kit bags etc.

Friday 13 December 2024

This morning we will meet for an easy swim before breakfast. This afternoon you will make your way to transition to check-in your bikes and gear bags for the race tomorrow. More details will be available closer to the event. The official race Welcome Banquet will be held tonight with more details available as we get closer to the race.

Saturday 14 December 2024: Race Day 1

This morning we will meet in the hotel foyers with the athletes and supporters making our way to the race start area. After the race starts we will take the supporters to key cheering zones on the course to support their athletes. The Tri Travel team will be on hand to support you after the race and assist you to get back to the hotels. Athletes racing tomorrow will check-in their bike and gear bags today. Details will be available closer to the race.

Sunday 15 December 2024: Race Day 2

This morning we will meet in the hotel foyers with the athletes and supporters making our way to the race start area. After the race starts we will take the supporters to key cheering zones on the course to support their athletes. The Tri Travel team will be on hand to support you after the race and assist you to get back to the hotels. After the awards we have free time to explore Taupo, then we will meet for our official Tri Travel after party.

Monday 16 December 2024

Today we say goodbye to the beautiful town of Taupo and head back to Auckland for your return home or onward journey. Don’t forget to ask our team about add-on tours around New Zealand when booking the Tri Travel World Championship Tour. IMPORTANT: Please check with Tri Travel Staff before booking return flights.

Payments

To book this tour we require a non-refundable non-transferable deposit of 30% at the time of booking. Final payment is due before 30th August 2024. From this date, the booking is fully non-refundable and non-changeable. 

Who can book

Our tours are available to book for Triathletes and family and friends from any country. 

Your Details

Please check all the details shown to make sure the names on your booking are the same as each person's passport. If not, please let us know within 48 hours of making your booking so we can change them. If you don't let us know straight away you may be charged. Names must be given at the time of booking and any shown as TBA will be classed as a name change and there will be a charge.

Insurance

Destination Sport Experiences strongly recommends travellers to take out comprehensive travel insurance with sufficient healthcare cover, including cover for existing medical conditions and any activities you plan to do.

If you have a European Health Insurance Card it will be valid up to its expiry date. This will be replaced with a new UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC). You can find further details here.
